Thoughtfully crafted objects, born from tradition, shaped by design, and made to elevate the everyday.

Anett Sáfrán
Ceramic-focused product designer
I'm a Budapest-based product designer specialized in ceramics. I graduated with a Master's degree in Ceramic Design from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, where I built a solid foundation of technical expertise and design thinking. After finishing my studies, I moved to the Netherlands, where I gained hands-on experience in the field of design production working with leading Dutch designers for over four years. These years deepened both my design knowledge and my production skills.
What I do?
Small-batch, purposeful design
Today, I run my own studio in Budapest, working as a freelancer. I design and produce functional ceramic objects in small batches. My work mainly focuses on bespoke tableware collections for restaurants, cafés, and other hospitality spaces. Alongside commissions, I also create personal collections—objects intended for everyday use in private homes, designed to elevate simple rituals and bring joy to daily moments.

My approach
Lasting, thoughtful, personal
I strive to create objects that are precise, reliable, and durable, yet individual and emotionally resonant. My material of choice is porcelain—timeless, refined, and rich in history. I aim to reinterpret this traditional material in a contemporary way, making it less of a museum piece and more a part of everyday enjoyment. All of my pieces are high-fired to ensure both durability and refined surface quality. Function and beauty are equally important to me.

Roots & Inspiration
Objects that carry peace
My creative world is rooted in a peaceful childhood spent in a small village surrounded by nature, simplicity, and loving stability. That atmosphere of freedom, lightness, and joy is something I aim to preserve and translate into my work. My color choices and forms are inspired by those early impressions: fresh, light-hearted, and full of ease. Through my objects, I hope to pass on a sense of calm, freedom, and the beauty of appreciating small details.

Play & Process
Exploring materials, enjoying collaboration
I love experimenting with materials and technologies beside creating ceramics —from 3D printing to glassblowing. This kind of playful exploration is central to my creative process. Stepping outside of my comfort zone and embracing discovery is always an inspiring challenge. That’s why I particularly enjoy collaborations with other brands and companies—they bring fresh perspectives and spark unexpected ideas.
